Humble Beginnings
​The Coffee Bean, established by Andy in 2008, began its journey by serving coffee from the back of a Piaggio Ape in Aberdare, South Wales.
Over the years, the business has expanded significantly.
We now supply freshly roasted coffee and equipment to both domestic and commercial customers.
Additionally, The Coffee Bean specialises in converting and equipping mobile units for clients across the country and offers franchised Coffee Bean businesses.
Despite this growth, we maintain a local presence with our mobile espresso bar outside Aberdare RFC, operating Monday to Thursday from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm.

In 2024, Andy and Paul set up a new limited company, The Coffee Bean Mobile Espresso Limited. This venture builds on the foundations laid by The Coffee Bean and PD Services. The new company continues to offer coffee equipment, installations, services, and conversions. Additionally, they are launching a new coffee franchise operation, inviting you to join the Coffee Bean family as a franchisee.

"Margo The Baby Dub"
Margo The Baby Dub was parked up outside Aberdare RFC Mon-Thurs mornings from 2020 until 2026. The little yellow coffee van was a favourite meeting place for many and an instantly recognisable van around Aberdare.
"Bandit The Mini Samurai"
Bandit The Mini Samurai has replaced Margo in 2026 and had to be another quirky little van that was immediately recognisable as The Coffee Bean. It has carried on the tradition and continued to be a bit of a community hub for meeting friends, drinking great coffee at great prices, playing Molkky (weather and space permitting!). If you haven't called in before, come and say hi! You can download The Magic Stamp app to get our digital loyalty card which will get you a free coffee when you fill up the card! Andy and Paul were great to work with. Great knowledge and expertise to give you the best options for your van or in my case ​car. I took my Nissan cube to them for a conversion. They were able to help and guide me so that I could get the best use out of the space available. No request of mine was too big and I came away with a bespoke, fully functional coffee car. Such a difference in price to the larger companies without a compromise on quality, I'll be taking more vehicles to them in the future.
